I recently attended a friend's wedding at Hyderabad. It was quite nice (the wedding not Hyderabad). Everyone was happy, even the bride and the groom. Most of the people around me were already married and I was kinda proud of being the only bachelor present. But after couple of hours and some liquor, the reality dawned on me that I was the only one alone. Disappointed and dejected, I came back to TIFR contemplating on my decision to pursure graduate school (PhD not MBA). As everyone else I seek every answer over internet, and to resolve this mid-life crisis I visited Jeevansathi.com. On the homepage of the website, I came across this photo.

I like this girl, she is obviously young, likes to study (bag on her shoulder, carrying books). This is how these matrimonial websites capture their prospective clients by luring them with pictures of young girls and they fall for it too, such is the power of advertisement. The other day, I was crossing McDonald's at Andheri (W) station and stopped to grab my favorite snack of couple of Mc Aloo Tikki burgers. But at the counter there was this tempting ad of McChicken Burger which didn't use to be there. So instead of McAloo Tikki, I ended up getting McChicken burger. This ad worked on me and I'm sure many more like me. After all, marketing is not always about bullshit.
